Twin River Urology
A Different Kind of Healthcare
Twin River Urology offers a high-quality vasectomy at a much more affordable price compared to larger medical facilities. Being a smaller practice allows us to keep our overhead costs low and establish a reasonable fee to cover our expenses. This approach only works if we receive fair compensation for the actual costs of the procedure. Dr. Curtis could talk endlessly about the complexities of the payment system in US healthcare and welcomes your thoughts and feedback!
Twin River Urology Background
Dr Curtis started Twin River Urology in 2000 as an independent practice and worked in White River Junction until 2010 when his family relocated to Maine. In Maine, he continued work as a community urologist at MidCoast Hospital and the Veterans Administration.
In 2023 the Curtis family returned to Vermont, and they are revitalizing their farm which lies between the villages of Strafford and South Strafford.
Dr Curtis is creating a new iteration of Twin River Urology as an independent practice. The practice is initially performing only minimally invasive vasectomy but looks forward to providing additional urology services in 2025. Dr Curtis continues to practice general urology part-time at Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vermont.
No $$ Surprises
Twin River Urology is committed to being upfront and honest about cost, addressing the current unacceptable nature of medical expenses in the US healthcare system. Our approach is one “All In” price for a vasectomy without gimmicks or surprise charges. This fee includes a pre-procedure consultation (if the patient chooses), the performance of the vasectomy, any post-procedure visits (usually not necessary), and a post-procedure semen analysis. Insurance?
“Will my vasectomy be covered by insurance?” is a simple and reasonable question. Unfortunately, in the present US healthcare system, the honest answer to this question is best answered by The Kinks in their 1983 song: “All I want is a yes or a no, but all I ever get is a definite maybe.”
