Twin River Urology Background
Dr Curtis started Twin River Urology in 2000 as an independent practice and worked in White River Junction until 2010 when his family relocated to Maine. In Maine, he continued work as a community urologist at MidCoast Hospital and the Veterans Administration.
In 2023 the Curtis family returned to Vermont, and they are revitalizing their farm which lies between the villages of Strafford and South Strafford.
Twin River Urology is again providing full-service urology care and consists of a team of Michael Curtis, MD, Mike Gaffney, PA and Sierra Kemp (the person who keeps the Mikes in line). Dr. Curtis performs minor surgeries in our office and larger surgery in Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.
No $$ Surprises
Twin River Urology is committed to being upfront and honest about cost, addressing the current unacceptable nature of medical expenses in the US healthcare system. We do participate with some major insurance companies, but also offer patients an “All In” self-pay price for most services (including vasectomy) in an effort to avoid gimmicks or surprise charges.
Insurance?
“Will my visit or procedure be covered by insurance?” We are participating providers with conventional Medicare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of NH and VT, except for their managed care programs. We really want everybody to feel welcomed to receive care and are committed to make it financially within your reach by using a sliding scale for patients not covered by one of the plans we accept. For those of you who will visit outside of the health insurance system we will provide a list of costs up front so that there are no surprise bills.
We will also offer a direct care program in which, for a monthly fee, a patient can have unlimited access to our services.
